University of Colorado, Massively Parallel Collaborate On Proteomics
Louisville, Colorado-based Massively Parallel Technologies, a provider of high performance computing software and systems, said Thursday that it has entered into an agreement with the University of Colorado to commercialize software for the analysis of proteins. Massively Parallel, which develops HPC computing systems, said that it will work with the University of Denver and Health Sciences Center on commercializing a protein identification software application developed at UCDHSC. The software uses parallel processing techniques to analyze proteins, used in biomedical research. The two are looking to license the software to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, as well as make it available on Massively's virtual computing services. Parallel computing is heavily used in the computational biology field for analyzing proteins and genes.
