eCortex Gets Seed Funding
Boulder, Colorado-based eCortex has received seed funding from a number of angel investors, according to Mobius Venture Capital Managing Director Brad Feld, and is launching a company to commercialize visual pattern recognition technology spun out of the University of Colorado. The investment came from the University of Colorado's Proof-of-Concept Investment program, Brad Feld, and other angel investors, but did not include Mobius Capital. eCortex signed a exclusive option to commercialize neural network technology from the University of Colorado in March, and received $100K from the University. eCortex is headed by David Jilk, who was most recently CEO of Xaffire.
