Novell announced its results this week, reporting that it earned $3M on revenues of $278M for the quarter ending April 30th. The results were down from the second quarter of 2005, when it had revenues of $297M. The company reported an increase in its Open Systems business, saying that its Open Platform Solutions revenues totaled $57M, up from $20M a year ago, which was a 20 percent year to year increase. Revenues for the company's Linux Platform Products totaled $10M. However, quarter-to-quarter results for its Open Platform Solutions were essentially flat, compared to revenues of $56M in the first quarter, and its Linux Platform Products revenues dropping to $10M from $13M in the first quarter. Revenues from the company's Netware-related products continued to also decline, with a 16 percent drop from the previous year. Novell is listed on the Nasdaq as NOVL.
