Tempe, Arizona-based content delivery network Limelight Networks has scored a new customer win, saying today that it is now delivering the popular NBC News "Today" morning show via its network. NBC is now delivering the first hour of "Today" via the Internet. Limelight said that the win follows the company's existing deal to deliver the "NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams" and "Meet the Press", along with other video delivery of MSNBC.com content. Limelight Networks operates a content delivery network, a system which provides local caching and high bandwidth access of video and other bandwidth-intensive content on localized sites for end users. CDNs are used by media providers to ensure that web browsers get reasonable response to video and multimedia downloads.
