COPAN Open Channel Strategy
Longmont, Colorado-based COPAN Systems, a provider of tape backup replacement systems based on disk, said today that it has expanded its go to market strategy by opening up a U.S. reseller channel. The company has hired Morrie Nelson as VP of Worldwide Channel Sales, and has signed on GTSI, a information technology reseller to the government market, as a partner. COPAN said taht GTSI is the company's first reseller focused on the government market, and will provide its massive-array of idle disk (MAID) products to government customers. COPAN's storage systems use disk based storage and power management to provide an alternative to tape backup products. The firm is supported by Austin Ventures, Globespan, Pequot Ventures, and Credit Suisse.
