Albuquerque, New Mexico-based SBS Technologies, a provider of embedded computer products, has been acquired by GE Fanuc for $215M in cash. GE Fanuc said this morning that it will acquire SBS for its embedded board systems that are sold to original equipment manufacturers in the commercial, communications, and government sectors. SBS Technologies designs and builds boards and systems used in robots, aircraft, spacecraft, and unmanned vehicles, used in embedded computing applications. The firms boards are widely used by OEMs who develop to the VMEbus, PCI, CompactPCI, and other embedded computing applications.
