BridgeSat Set Up Satellite Operations Center In Denver

Denver-based BridgeSat, which is developing a network of low earth orbit (LEO) and geostationary earth orbit (GEO) satellites aimed at providing high speed Internet access, says it has set up its network operations center (NOC). According to the company, the new center will provide monitoring, management, and control of its communications network. BridgeSat says it is using laser-based, optical communications technology for its network, rather than traditional radio frequency (RF) communications, in order to provide high bandwidth communications services. Barry Matsumori is BridgeSat's CEO; the company says it is backed by Applied Minds, and is working with The Aerospace Corporation and Draper Laboratory on its systems.
