Foundry Leads Round For Startup Studio, Pioneer Square Labs

Boulder-based venture investor Foundry Group is the lead investor this week in a "startup studio" based in Seattle, Pioneer Square Labs (PSL), in a $15M total funding. According to Pioneer Square Labs, the funding was led by Foundry Group, and also its existing 12 venture capital fund investors, plus 60 angels. Foundry took the bulk of the funding round, contributing $10M in funding in the round, according to PSL. Pioneer Square Labs spins companies out of its startup studio, helping them raise separate funding from venture investors: the startup studio says it has so far spun out nine companies, which have an equity value of $100M and who have raised $26M in total.
