DISH, CBS Clash Over Fees: No Football On Thanksgiving?
Englewood, Colorado-based satellite television provider DISH and CBS are in a major clash, just ahead of Thanksgiving, with CBS Corporation blacking out its signal to DISH after expiration of a contract between the two companies for retransmission. In response, DISH said it will offer up over-the-air (OTA) antennas to its customers to allow them to access local television channels, at no cost. CBS has shut down access to 28 local channels across 18 markets, in 26 states, after DISH and CBS failed to reach agreements on fees. The shutdown impacts the ability of many consumers to view NFL football games over the Thanksgiving holiday.
