Boulder-based Zayo Group announced this morning that it is adding three network routes out of Marseille, France, as part of an expansion in Western Europe. According to Zayo, Marseille is a key aggregation point between Europe, Africa and Asia, and connects to the AAE-1, SEA-ME-WE-5 and several other subsea cables. Zayo said that, so far, it has a low-latency route via Lyon that is fully operational on dark fiber/100G, and it has a second dark fiber route traverses western France via Bordeaux. Finally, the company said it is developing a third route which connects to Strasbourg via Milan and onto Paris, Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam and other European markets. The company did not say how much it is investing in the expansion.
