EchoStar 105/SES-11 Satellite Launched Into Orbit By SpaceX
Englewood, Colorado-based satellite services provider EchoStar says its newest satellite, the EchoStar 105/SES-11 satellite, was successfully launched into Orbit yesterday by SpaceX. According to EchoStar, its satellite was launched at 6:53PM EDT atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 vehicle, from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The satellite payload includes both Ku- and C-band communications transponders, with 24 transponders in each band. EchoStar said the new satellites will allow the company to meet evolving capacity requirements of its customers in North America. The EchoStar 105 provides coverage of the 50 U.S. states and expanded reach to the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean for satellite communications services.
