VidAngel Gets Setback In Battle With Hollywood
Provo, Utah-based "clean" movie streaming service VidAngel received a setback this week in the courts, after a judge denied a motion which would have allowed the company to resume filtering content for its users--provided those users already had a streaming video account elsewhere. According to the motion, the judge in the case decided the motion was "not appropriate" at the moment. VidAngel is battling Disney, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox, and Warner Bros., who sued the company last year over its "clean" version of popular films. VidAngel had offered up online streaming of movies, which had been edited by the company for family-unfriendly content such as language, sex, and other scenes.
