Silvernest Snags $1.3M For Senior Home Sharing Startup

Denver-based SilverNext, the home sharing and roommate-matching service aimed at baby boomers and "empty nesters", has raised $1.3M in a seed funding, according to the company. The funding included Halogen Ventures, 1843 Capital, Rockies Venture Club, Investor's Circle and 500 Startups. The startup, led by CEO Wendi Burkhardt, said the funding will go towards growth, scaling the business, and driving revenue. The startup says its service helps match boomers, retirees, empty nesters and other aging adults with compatible long-term housemates, handling full background checks, communications, lease agreements, and even rent payments.
