Sling Media Rolls Out Its Own, Wireless, Live Video Production Hardware
Sling Media, the subsidiary of DISH Network which develops the Slingbox, has rolled out new, wireless video production hardware aimed at letting people broadcast live video to Facebook Live and YouTube. Sling Media said its new SlingStudio system lets users record, monitor and edit four HD video inputs from up to 10 connected cameras and smartphones, and can output live video and at the same time record to a USB hard drive, SSD, or SD card for post production. The system starts at $999. DISH Network acquired Sling Media's, when it was part of EchoStar, in 2007. EchoStar spun out DISH in 2008.
