Uber Self Driving Car Rolls Over In Arizona, Program Suspended
One of on-demand ride service Uber's self driving cars--which just hit the roads in Tempe in February--rolled over on Friday in a crash, while in "self driving mode"--and has resulted in the suspension of Uber's self-driving car program. Apparently, one of Uber's autonomous vehicles crashed into another car near McClintock Drive and Apache Boulevard when another driver failed to yield, and rolled over on its side. At least two other vehicles were involved. Uber moved its self-driving vehicle testing to Tempe in December, after California pulled its registration for the automobiles involved in its self-driving vehicle, over a disagreement over permits.
