TestPlant Names New CEO

Boulder-based software test automation developer TestPlant announced this morning that it has named Dr. John Bates as its new CEO, to help it with growth and global expansion. Bates was most recently CEO of Plat.One, which was sold to SAP in September of 2016. He is the co-founder, President, and CTO of Apama, which was sold to Progress Software in 2005; he also has served at Progress Software and Software AG, which bought Progress. The CEO appointment comes as a result of the investment and acquisition of TestPlant by Carlyle Europe Technology Partners II in January of last year; founder and prior CEO George Mackintosh has transitioned to Non-Executive Director on the company's board.
