Blackmore Sensors Gets $3.5M For LIDAR Technology
Bozeman, Montana-based Blackmore Sensors and Analytics announced this morning that it has raised $3.5M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Next Frontier Capital and Millennium Technology Value Partners. Blackmore develops a frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) lidar system, aimed at the autonomous vehicle market. The company said the funding will go towards manufacturing. The company said it expects its lidar engine to go into use by mid-2017. The company's CEO is Dr. Randy Reibel. The funding comes as Montana has had a relatively busy with venture investments in the last few months, with investments recently for Orbital Shift and Centricient. More information »
