Sarcos Robotics Gets Investment To Bring Iron Man Suit To Life
Sarcos Robotics, a developer of robotic exoskeletons not that far off from the suit from Iron Man, has scored funding from Caterpillar Ventures, GE Ventures, and Microsoft Corporation, the company said on Monday. The company--which splits its headquarters between Salt Lake City, Utah, and Bellevue, Washington--said the funding goes to develop its team and to accelerate production and deployment of its Guardian line of robots, which are aimed at the construction to manufacturing, oil & gas, mining, infrastructure inspection, logistics, public safety and military markets. Peter Klein (former CFO of Microsoft) and Ray Quintana (Cottonwood Technology Fund), Ralph Taylor-Smith (GE Ventures) and investor Dennis Weibling all join the company's board with the funding.
