DigitalGlobe's WorldView-1 Completes Satellite Shift
Westminster, Colorado-based satellite imaging provider DigitalGlobe says that it has successfully shifted one of its satellites--WorldView-1--into an afternoon orbit, which it says improves its customer's ability to detect, see, and understand changes on the earth within a single day. The company--which previously had the satellite deployed in a morning orbit--said it took 18 months to move the satellite into its new position. Worldview said the move allows its customers to see the earthy anytime between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. local time, which is double the size of its prior, imaging window.
