Level 3 Rolls Out Managed, Cloud Security Offering

Broomfield, Colorado-based bandwidth provider Level 3 says it has rolled out a new, cloud-based security offering, which will help its customers offload perimeter security for their networks. According to Level 3, it has launched a network security product called Enterprise Security Gateway (ESG), which will route all employee or office traffic to its gateway, before hitting a company's enterprise data center. The company said the move will help companies better manage security, by reducing the number of firewalls and personnel required to manage that perimeter security. Level 3 said the new cloud security service will offer up anti-malware sandboxing, data loss protection, application awareness, and firewall features, plus 24/7 managed security operations.
