EPIC Ventures Leads Investment In Shape Security
Salt Lake City, Utah-based venture capital investor EPIC Ventures is further extending its investments in the cybersecurity industry, as one of the lead investors in Shape Security. Shape Security, a developer of software that stops automated web and mobile application attacks, said that it raised $25M in a funding which was led by Epic Ventures, Baseline Ventures, and Northern Light Venture Capital. The later stage funding brings Shape Security's total raised to $91M. Other investors in the round included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Venrock, Norwest Venture Partners, Google Ventures, and Eric Schmidt's Tomorrow Ventures. EPIC Ventures' involvement in Shape Security undoubtedly comes via Derek Smith, co-founder and CEO of Shape Security, who is also an advisor to EPIC Ventures. More information »
