Zayo Closes Viatel Acquisition

Boulder-based bandwidth provider Zayo Group said on New Year's that it has closed its acquisition of European firm Viatel. The deal was worth $98.8M euros, or approximately $107M US. Viatel was based in Dublin, Ireland, and had been owned by telecommunications operator Digiweb Group. Zayo says the deal adds 8,400 kilometers of fiber network across eight countries in Europe.
