Foundry Backed 3D Printer Firm Racks Up $21M Via Crowdfunding

In what has blown away the most recent record for crowdfunding a company, one of Boulder-based Foundry Group's investments--Glowforge, says it has racked up more than $21 million in pre-orders for its 3D printer. According to Glowforge, it had hoped to initially raise just $100,000 in its Crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, for its 3D printer, which lets users create all kinds of 3D objects using a wide range of materials. Glowforge said it surpassed the prior record, for Pebble Time, which raised $20,338,986 for its products on Kickstarter.
