Need Your Own Droid? Star Wars' BB-8 Goes On Sale, For Real

Are you a Star Wars fan, who always wished they could own their own droid? Well, now you can, thanks to Boulder-based Sphero, which is releasing a real version of the Star Wars BB-8 Droid for purchase. Sphero said on its web site that BB-8 will be available on September 4th at 12:01 a.m.. The new robotic ball will cost $150, and includes such features as voice commands, and the ability to project hologram-like messages ala R2D2. Sphero is the original developer of the Star Wars BB-8 droid, which came to into existence due to Sphero's involvement in the Disney Accelerator, which is run by Boulder's Techstars.
