MapQuest Details Update Plans, Ties With Mapbox
Denver-based MapQuest, along with parent AOL, said this morning it has some big plans to update its service. According to MapQuest, it will be launching a faster, more responsive service for both mobile and desktop; launch a new tablet experience; new urban user features; and more connections with partners such as Priceline, OpenTable, SeatGeek, and others. In addition, the company also announced it has linked with custom mapping technology developer Mapbox, in order to create adaptable, fast loading, and responsive maps for its service. MapQuest explained its extensive plans to the Washington Post last week.
