X-IO Rolls Out Flash Array

Colorado Springs-based storage maker X-IO has just rolled out a new product, an all-flash storage array, moving the company beyond its combined disk-flash systems into the flash-memory-only space. The company is targeting the storage for such applications as online transaction processing (OLTP) and database applications, where the low latency of solid state storage is a key factor in storage needs. The company says its new flash array model comes in capacities of 6.4TB to 52.1TB of flash storage. Pricing on the new products was not announced.
