Sling TV Targets Cord Cutters With New Service
Wish you could just skip the cable subscription and just buy those channels you really want to watch? Englewood, Colorado-based Sling TV is making what looks to be the first, serious move towards making content available in a more, a-la-carte basis, through a new streaming television servie. Sling TV--which is owned by DISH--said it wil offer up ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Cartoon Network, ABC Family and Disney Channel for only $20 a month through its service, which does not require a long term committment, contract, or hardware. The new "over-the-top" service runs across any broadband connection. Sling had announced its service at CES in January.
