American Healthcare Lending Acquired By Silicon Valley's Prosper

Salt Lake City-based American Healthcare Lending, which operates a technology-enabled, online financing site for healthcare providers in the cosmetic dentistry, bariatric surgery, fertility, plastic surgery, and other markets, has been acquired by Silicon Valley peer-to-peer lending site Prosper Marketplace. The deal was worth $21M in cash. Prosper said it would use the buy to expand its product offerings and capabilities. American Healthcare Lending's service were used to help enable patient financing at the point of service, to help patients finance medical procedures. Prosper offers up a peer-to-peer lending marketplace, where individuals can loan funds to others.
