Blackstone Charitable Foundation Invests $4M In Colorado Entrepreneurs
The Blackstone Charitable Foundation--the charity arm of private equity firm Blackstone--says it is investing $4M to encourage the development of high growth companies in Colorado, the group announced Wednesday. According to the foundation, it has launched the Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network (BEN), which is a three year initiative to kickstart the growth of high tech companies in Colorado. Blackstone said the program--which it first developed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill--is being launched in conjunction with U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and the Silicon Flatirons Center for Law, Technology, and Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado Law School. The new effort will be headed by J.B. Holston, and will be based at Denver's Galvanize.
