eSoft Acquired By Untangle

Broomfield, Colorado-based eSoft, the developer of security appliances which included firewall, email, and web threat security software, has been acquired by Untangle. According to Untangle, the deal was structured as an asset purchase, and includes eSoft's domain name, firewall technology and appliances, and existing customer contracts. Untangle also said it had hired employees from eSoft to support those customers and channel partners. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Untangle is based in Sunnyvale, California.
