Firehole Composites Acquired By Autodesk
Laramie, Wyoming-based materials analysis software developer Firehole Composites, which develops software for the design and analysis of composite materials, has been acquired by CAD software giant Autodesk. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Autodesk said the buy will expand its expertise and technology, and will add "significant experience" in next generation materials and non-linear analysis. Autodesk said it will continue to sell and support the existing products from Firehole, while also adding closer integration with Autodesk's other products. Autodesk did not say how the acquisition will affect local employment at Firehole. Autodesk is based in Silicon Valley.
