MyHeritage Buys Geni.com, Raises $25M
Provo, Utah-based genealogy site MyHeritage has acquired family tree site Geni.com, and raised $25M in a funding round, the firm said today. Financial details of the Geni acquisition were not disclosed. MyHeritage said the new funding round brings its total raised to $49M; the round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, and also include prior investors Index Ventures, and Accel Partners. Geni.com founder David Sacks, and Bessemer's Adam Fisher have joined MyHeritage's board with the funding. More information »
