Ancestry.com Offers Up Census Records For Labor Day

Provo, Utah-based family history site Ancestry.com is hoping that folks with some free time over the Labor Day holiday might spend it on looking up their ancestors, saying it has opened up access to all of its U.S. Census records over the holiday. The records span from 1790 to 1940. The company said the free access will run until September 3rd. Ancestry.com explained that it has more than 713 million U.S. Census records spanning from 1790 to 1940. The firm often rotates information in its database to open access, hoping to give potential users an idea of the kinds of information it has available to more serious subscribers.
