Quantenna Sets Up Operations In Tempe

Silicon valley semiconductor developer Quantenna, which is develops wireless chipsets, said this morning that it has expanded its operations to Arizona, to tap into the region's workforce. Quantenna--which is venture backed by Sequoia Capital, Venrock, Sigma Partners, Southern Cross Venture Partners, DAG Ventures, Rusnano, Swisscom Ventures, Grazia Equity, and Telefonica Digital--said it will initially set up operations with 12 engineering and management jobs along the Loop 101 freeway and East Elliot Road. The company said it expects to triple those new research and development operations over the next few years. Quantenna said it selected Tempe due to a "highly skliled and talented workforce". Quantenna's chips are used for 801.22n and 802.11ac, high speed, MIMO wireless communications, which are being used for home wireless entertainment. Quantenna has some hefty venture capital backing, having raised $79M in a huge round in April for its wireless chip efforts.
