Mocavo Gets $4M For Genealogy Tools
Boulder-based Mocavo, which is developing an online genalogy search engine, is announcing this morning that it has raised $4M in a Series A funding. The round came from the Foundry Group. Seth Levine of Foundry joins the company's board as part of the funding. Mocavo is developing a custom search engine specifically focused on genealogy information. The company was part of the TechStars accelerator effort. Mocavo is led by Cliff Shaw, who previously built three companies in the genealogy area, including GenForum (sold to A&E Networks), Pearl Street Software (sold to MyHeritage), and BackUpMyTree (also sold to MyHeritage).
