Instructure Launches K-12 Education Software
Salt Lake City-based Instructure, the new educational software firm started by Josh Coates, the founder of Mozy, said today that it has launched its offering to the K-12 market. The firm said its new Canvas K-12 learning management platform allows parents and teachers to track their child's assignments, tests, grades, and more, and helps teachers to meet state standards. Instructure had previously been offering its tools only to post-secondary institutions, such as universities and colleges. Instructure is venture backed by OpenView Ventures Partners, EPIC Ventures and Tomorrow Ventures. Coates launched Mozy in 2006, and quickly sold it to EMC in 2007.
