Orbotix: Sphero Final Production Prototypes In Hand

Boulder-based Orbotix, the robotic, smartphone controlled ball firm headed by Paul Berberian, continues to move toward product availability, saying today that it now has final production prototypes in hand for the device. The firm--which has been aiming at delivering its products later this year--has been busy collecting pre-orders on the robotic ball and its accompanying smart phone controls. Orbotix is venture backed by Highway 12 Ventures and Foundry Ventures. Orbotix says on its Sphero website that it hopes to deliver its first products in late 2011. The robotic ball is controlled by either iPhone or Android phones.
