Clean Urban Energy Gains $7M
Clean Urban Energy, a startup whose technology was developed at the University of Colorado, scored funding this week, saying it raised $7M in a Series A round. Clean Urban Energy, which is based in Chicago, is commercializing a software tool which was developed at CU's Boulder campus for managing the energy consumption of commercial buildlings. The funding round was co-led by Battery Ventures and Rho Ventures. The company said it will be using the funding for product development and expansion within the United States. Clean Urban Energy develops software for optimizing the energy usage of commercial office buildings. The software was originally develope by CU-Boulder architectural engineering professor Gregor Henze. More information »
