Pike Research: 1.3M Plug-in-Electric Vehicles In Corporate Fleets by 2015

Boulder-based market research and consulting firm Pike Research reported today that plug-in-electric vehicle numbers are expected to reach 1.3 million by 2015. The firm said that it expects nearly 400,00 vehicles to be sold annually by the end of 2015. Pike said it made the estimates believing that fleet managers will want to tap into PEV vehicles to meet requirements to reduce overall fleet emissions, and that companies will be motivated by tax incentives.
