RDX Alliance Adds Analyst Firm

Broomfield, Colorado-based RDX Storage Alliance, the industry group helping to supporting the RDX removable storage format, said today that it has added analyst firm Evaluator Group as a partner. The Evaluator Group provides analysis of the storage industry. The RDX Alliance is a group which includes Imation, ProStor Systems, Tandberg, BDT, DCIG, Evaluator Group, Maxell and Storage Switzerland. Firms which have implemented the RDX format include BDT, Dell, Fujitsu, Hitachi, HP, IBM, Imation, Maxell, NEC, ProStor Systems, and Tandberg Data. Those firms all ship drives or equipment which use the RDX format of removable disk-based storage, targeted at replacing tape storage formats. RDX was originally developed and is licensed by ProStor.
