Level 3 Names Legal Head

Broomfield, Colorado-based Level 3 Communications said yesterday that it has named John M. Ryan as its Chief Legal Officer. Ryan replaces Thomas C. Stortz, who the firm said is retiring at the end of the year. Ryan has been at Level 3 since 1999. The firm said Ryan has more than 17 years of experience, and has also previously served at the Fraser Stryker Law Firm. Stortz had been Chief Legal Officer since 1998.
