Ancestry.com Bolsters Revolutionary War Collection
Provo, Utah-based Ancestry.com said Thursday that the firm has launched a new, Revolutionary War collection. According to the firm, it has added records from the Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files to the online historical documents site, which is heavily used by people researching family history and genealogy. The new records come from federal government records covering pensions and land given to soldiers as a reward for service. The firm said the new documents add approximately 80,000 documents to its collection of 2 million Revolutionary War records.
