Micron Buys Numonyx In $1.2B Deal
Boise, Idaho-based memory maker Micron said Tuesday that it is buying European DRAM manufacturer Numonyx Holdings B.V., in a deal worth approximately $1.27 billion. According to MIcron, the acquisition is made up of 140 million shares of its common stock, to be paid to Numoynx shareholders, Intel, STMicroelectronics, and Francisco Partners. Micron said the move would strengthen its portfolio of memoryp roducts, as well as global manufacturing capability and customers.
