CrimeReports Hits 100,000 iPhone Downloads
Salt Lake City-based CrimeReports, which operates an online service for mapping out recent crime reports in varoius cities, announced today that it has received over 100,000 downloads of the firm's iPhone application in the last month. The firm said that the app has been used for over eight million crime searches since its release. CrimeReports mashes up law enforcement reports with an interactive online map, allowing citizens to see the location and information about crime in their neighborhood. The firm reports that its data now covers about 20% of the U.S. population, particularly in major metropolitan areas.
