SCO Dumps McBride, Lays Off Staff
Lindon, Utah-based SCO Group, the UNIX software firm which has been pursuing a number of lawsuits against Novell and SCO over the Linux operating system, said late Monday that it has restructured the firm, and has let go of current CEO Darl McBride. According to the firm, it is making a "modest" reduction in its workforce, in combination with non-workforce related changes. The restructuring was kicked off by the firm's Chapter 11 bankruptcy trustee, Edward Cahn. SCO also said it is looking to raise additional funding, and sell its non-core assets, enabling the firm to proceed with its litigation against IBM and Novell.
