Edwards Lifesciences Expands in Draper
Heart valve firm Edwards Lifesciences Corporation said late last week that it is opening up a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Draper, Utah--a move expected to bring up to 1,000 new jobs in the state over the next 15 years. According to Edwards, the new facility came as a result of work with the Governor's Office of Economic Development in Utah and the Draper City Council, and includes incentives from the State of Utah totaling approximately $11.5M. The firm also said it will received $3M in incentives from the City of Draper, based on capital investments and employment rates over a seven-year incentive period. Edwards is moving its existing facility--and 228 jobs--in Midvale, Utah, to Draper in the first half of 2010.
