Utah Tech Firms Have Positive Outlook, Says Group
A new survey by the Utah Technology Council is reporting that Utah's high tech and life science firms have a positive outlook, despite the economic downturn. According to the group, Utah's technology companies are "faring better than most," despite the U.S. recession. The group compared its annual survey, conducted in September of 2008, to last year, and found a combined growth rate of 2.6 percent, with very high growth in information services (41.2 percent) and marketing consulting (19.5 percent). The group's survey came from an informal poll of 52 CEOs from technology firms in Utah. In group's survey, 1 CEO reported that the firm was thriving, 31 reported they were growing, 14 said they were holding steady, and just 6 reported a decline in their businesses.
