Three Colorado VCs Make
Three Colorado venture capital firms have had the dubious honor of being listed as a "Zombie" venture capital firm -- a firm which still exists, but has not been able to raise new capital or make new investments in a number of years -- by PEHub.com, a site which follows the private equity and venture capital industry. According to PEHub's Dan Primack, Appian Ventures, Centennial Ventures, and Sequel Venture Partners all have active investments but have been unable to raise new funding. Venture firms, which make investments in promising startups, generally gather investment commitments from limited partners like pension funds, investment firms, family offices, and wealthy individuals. However, all three firms have made investments recently, with recent Appian investments in OneRiot, IP Commerce, Collective Intellect, and Tendril; Centennial in a recent rounds for Zayo Group, Slacker, and Accellos; and Sequel making a new investment in YieldEx and Sierra Neuropharma.
