Sorenson Media Names New CEO
Salt Lake City-based Sorenson Media, a provider encoding and compression applications, reported Monday that it has hired Peter Csathy as president and chief executive officer. Csathy, the firm said, has worked within the digital media industry for more than 20 years. Most recently, Sorenson said, he was CEO of SightSpeed, which Logitech acquired in late 2008. Csathy also served as president and chief operating officer of Musicmatch, which Yahoo bought in 2004, and as COO of eNow, which AOL-Time Warner purchased in 2006. Before all of those positions, Sorenson noted, Csathy held senior management roles at Universal Studios, Savoy Pictures Entertainment and New Line Cinema.
