OpenLogic Expands Open Source Support

Broomfield, Colorado-based OpenLogic, which provides supported versions of open source software products, announced Thursday that the firm is expanding its open source library. The firm said it has enhanced its OpenLogic Exchange product to include over 130,000 active open source projects. The firm--which has around 500 of those projects certified--said the move will allow its customers to rate and track risk associated with the various packages. OpenLogic's source code repositories are used by corporations as a source for provide certified, supported versions of popular open source software, and to have a way to manage open source license risk in their projects. The firm said the new expansion pulls packages from SourceForge.net, FreshMeat, Objectweb, and RubyForge, and filters for obsolete and inactive packages. OpenLogic is venture funded by Appian Ventures, Highway 12 Ventures, Red Rock Ventures, UV Partners, and Village Ventures.
